Hippopotamus related deaths vs Crocodiles?

Ive always heard that in the Kenya region and thereabouts in Africa, there were more people killed by hippos than any other animal in Africa, but today my teacher said that Crocs kill more, my teacher is kind of an idiot so it'd be nice to prove her wrong, links would be good

I believe you are right. I have always heard that Hippos cause more deaths in Africa than any other large animal. In fact, many websites don't even list Crocodiles as being on the list; one says that Hippos are believed to lead Buffalos in the death count, not Crocs. *The Second Link Explictly States The Hippo As Most Dangerous Animal In Africa*

Hippos kill more people than any other animal
their territories are lost by rivers drying up and by people invading the space for settlement
Hippos are very Territorial and become exstremely violent when people invade this .
there are not that many deaths related to crocodiles,except for the fact that humans have used crocodiles a lot to dispose of unwanted other humans .

in Mexico (where i lived for 7 years ,and crocodiles are part of my life ,i have 5 small ones in my garden)are the odd crocodile incidents as there are in Africa (where i lived for 23 years) .

but by far Hippos kill more people than even Lions and lions are hunting people for food in central Africa ,because the people have killed all the game and now they are the only lion food left.
In South Africa in Kruger park Lions kill many ilegal migrants that cross the border ,but statistics of hippo related deaths still beat them all.

Actually, in Africa, mosquitoes and flies kill more people than any other animals. Snakes and bees count for a lot too.

you were correct to suspect your taecher of being an idiot. hippos kill more people than lions, crocs, hyenas, leopards, 1986 Geos, and paperclips. I think what is more interesting is that deer kill more people in the use than all moose, bear, and mountain lion attacks combined. i am sure they would give hippos a run for their money

I have also heard that hippos cause the most deaths. I don't recall my sources, it's been a year or more. Google it.
