Will the contemporary religions of today be viewed by future generations the same way we view Greek mythology?

We commonly refer to the ancient Greek and Roman religions as myths. Is it possible that one day people will do that for Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc.?

It is quite conceivable that in two millennia Christianity, Islam and Judaism will be looked on as historical relics the way that the Ancient religions of Greece and Rome are today. However, that being said, if that is the case, the majority religions of today will probably still have adherants or folk practice remnants the way Religio Roma and Hellenismos do today.

Please do not forget that there ARE still worshippers of the Greek and Roman pantheons and that our faith is as alive as any larger religion (in terms of numbers). Also remember that the religion survived as an underground religion for over 1500 years before the currant revival. (Which is why I say that the Abrahamic religions of the question will probably still be around 2000 years from now.)

Many people already think that Christianity is a "myth." Some "Christians" worship modern day myths like Ted Haggard and Joel Osteen. At least Ted Haggard and Zeus had one thing in common - both of them preferred boys.

Islam will overtake the "myth" religion Christianity due to their rapid growing population. Islam is a sensual religion which appeals to the raging hormones of men and women alike. Sadly, Islam fears the raging hormones of women and forces them to take the burkha - although that is not true in more modern Islamic countries.

Meanwhile, Hollywood promotes Islam and transforms Christianity as a "myth."

i think of that's Christianity will finally end up like the ideals of the Greeks and Romans. each faith follows an analogous direction; starts out as a sect, grows in potential and followers in the previous attaining this style of initiate of potential that those on the spectacular start to deliver on their very own downfall by utilising turning from the ideals of the religion to the certainty of forex. The religions then slowly die down and disappear or are incorperated into different religions. It got here approximately to Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Celtic mythologies. at an analogous time as each of those nevertheless exsist in some variety of Paganism, they do no longer seem to be what they as quickly as have been. that's happening to Christianity in the present day (i'm no longer attempting to offend human beings) yet there became a time that Catholism became the only faith interior the ecu continent and now they could desire to handle many others while as quickly as non-believers have been the two pushed out or killed as heretics. it may desire to no longer disappear altogether yet i think that in the time of time will substitute into the very small minority that it became to start with and something else will take that is place. that's hassle-free human behaviour.

"Some of them are explanatory, being prescientific attempts to interpret the natural world."

    Sigmund Freud

It would only be the matter of time.

However, myths are truthful, but figuratively truthful only. Our future generations, shall see both Greek mythology and Christianity as allegories instead of taking them literally

it is foretold in the prophecies that in the end times religeous people will be persecuted and even killed for their beliefs ... its easy to see the trend towards that way of thinking even now ... and to assume we are advancing our consciousness and evolving into somthing better is dangerous imo ...and i dont think we will ever reach that point where we are so evolved and great that we look back on it with pride and think we have accomplished peace and harmony in the earth .. it just wont happen .. the human condition is deteriorating not advancing.

There is big difference between believing that Zeus and his royal family are manipulating events on earth and that in God we live and move and have our being.
