What is the sales tax percentage rate in Pierce County, Washington?

The Washington state sales tax percentage is a fixed 6.5%. After that, the local sales tax within Pierce County is either 1.3% or 1.9% depending on your city, and most (but not all) cities also have a 0.4% Regional Transit Authority (RTA) tax. So your total sales tax could be anywhere from 7.8% to 8.8%.
