is the last name lee a chinese name???

    Yes, but the name is found in other cultures, as well. Take Mother Ann Lee, the founder of the Shaker religion. She came to America from England, and was definitely not Chinese. Many people from European stock have Lee as their last name.

    Yes, but it depends on if that person is Chinese! Lee is a Chinese derivative of "Li", Vietnamese "Ly" (same pronounciation) and many Koreans have the last name of Lee. Even the American Civil War general has the last name: Robert E. Lee. This surname is common in both China and Korea.

    yes. older spelling of the Chinese family 李 is "Lee" and modern is "Li". I'm Chinese.

    It is, but usually spelled Li rather than Lee.
