Generally speaking they are 12ft x 10ft. They do not have bars on the door. The doors are solid with a spy hole. The windows have 4 bars on them.

6 by 8, no bars on windows these days as much as before, new prisons have ultra-narrow windows that would not allow a person to get though. Doors do not have bars, the door is metal with a slot in it. Or maybe I spent too much time in solitary confinement at a Supermax.

It depends which country you are asking about, for the UK, click on the link as that will take you to the Prisoner's guide for UK prisons.

As for those in Spain, it depends on the prison, some are better than others and some are terrible. The one in Alicante is not a good one, its meant to be a remnd prison but it houses all. in the womes block there are two types of cells, one smaller that the other, the smaller is about 2m x 3.5m. and shared by two, standard bars at the window and all doors lockable manually to the cells

I have to comment, that the government is spending too much on building prisons and putting people that is virtually harmless into jail instead of focusing on the ones with the real threat. What a system.

6 x 8 for new cells, as small as 6 x 5 for some older ones.
