A touchdown is the primary method of scoring in American and Canadian football. To score a touchdown, one team must take the football into the opposite end zone. This can be done by rushing, in which the ball carrier carries the football forward into the end zone. It can also be done by passing, where an eligible receiver catches a forward pass in the end zone. The receiver can also catch the ball prior to reaching the end zone and carry it across the plane of the end zone. This would still be considered a "passing" touchdown as opposed to a "rushing" touchdown.

Touchdowns are usually scored by the offense. However, the defense can also score a touchdown if they have recoved a fumble or an interception.

A touchdown is worth 6 points. The scoring team is also awarded the opportunity for an extra point or a two-point conversion.

  • A touchdown is when a team takes the ball into the end zone and then scores six points. They are required to kick and field goal or score a two pointer. Both offense and defense can score a touchdown but the offense usually is the one making the touchdown. The only way for the defense to score a touchdown is to intercept or to recover the ball from a fumble.

A touchdown means that one of the two teams on the field has managed to legally move the football past the opposing team's goal line. A touchdown is worth six points in American football.

When the spacecraft slowly descends toward the surface, moving ever slower as it uses it's thrusters to control its speed, until it finally, gently makes contact with the ground...

    That's what is called..."touchdown".

You get 6 points for it.

It is worth 6 points to the team who crosses over the goal line of the opposing team. They then are eligible to kick a 1 pointer over the goal post. That makes 7.

It's what the Colts are going to do over and over and over against the Bears. Score them touchdowns, Colts!!
