Personally I like the version from Elf, with Will Farrell (actual voice was someone else, and Zooey Dechanel. But the one that is iconofied is done by Red Skelton and Betty Garrett.

The following versions were recorded in 1949:

    * By Dinah Shore and Buddy Clark on March 17, released by Columbia Records as catalog number 38463.

    * By Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer on March 18, released by Capitol Records as catalog number 567.

    * By Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban on April 7, released by MGM Records as catalog number 30197.

    * By Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan on April 28, released by Decca Records as catalog number 24644.

    * By Pearl Bailey and Hot Lips Page on June 23, released by Harmony Records as catalog number 1049.

    * By Don Cornell and Laura Leslie on April 12, released by RCA Victor Records as catalog number 20-3448.

    * By Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside" has been recorded by numerous other artists over the years, including Jo Stafford (1956); Sammy Davis, Jr. and Carmen McRae (1957); Dean Martin (1959); Ray Charles and Betty Carter (1961); Oliver Reed and Joyce Blair (1962); Barry Manilow and K. T. Oslin (1990); Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews ( 1999), Ann-Margret and Brian Setzer (2002), Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey (2004); Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton (2004); James Taylor and Natalie Cole (2004); Wheat (band) and Liz Phair (2004); and Alan Cumming and Liza Minnelli. On Saturday Night Live NBC on 10/11/1986, the song was featured as a duet sung by Sigourney Weaver and Buster Poindexter. It was also featured in the 1991 movie For the Boys sung by Bette Midler and James Caan. Due to the wintertime lyrics, the song is often played during the Christmas season; in 2003, it was featured in the holiday-themed film Elf sung by Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone. In 2006, the song was reissued on the album Christmas with Dino, this time as a duet by Dean Martin (posthumously) with Martina McBride, whose portion was recorded and mixed at the Los Angeles Capitol studio used by Martin for his 1959 version. Also in 2006, Peter Gallagher and Megan Mullally performed it on The Megan Mullally Show.

Baby, It's Cold Outside" is a pop standard with words and music by Frank Loesser. Loesser wrote the duet in 1944 and premiered the song with his wife at their Navarro Hotel housewarming party. The female voice in the song is called "The Mouse" and the male "The Wolf."

A lot of people recorded it. My favorite duo is Ray Charles and Betty Carter, recorded in 1960.

There was something on NPR (National Public Radio) about the song and the writer / singers. If you go to npr.org and search the archives, you may be able to listen to it.

    Good luck

Sung by just about everyone, but Esther Williams was probably the first to do it in a duet.
