how can genetic engineering reduce the use of insecticides?

    Crops can be engineered to contain natural pesticides which are present in different species of plant. So this means that pesticide does not need to be applied by the farmer and so reduces the run off of the pesticide in to ground water which can be quite a big environmental problem.
