It is for standard xII physics exam

The Earth has a negative net charge of about 1/2 million Coulombs. Potential is a relative measure, so what this translates to as an electrical potential depends on what you are measuring relative to.
However, it equates to a static field of about 6V/m in the lower atmosphere.
