Poetry linking to music?

If a person wants to turn their poetry into songs, and have the writing ability to do so, which instrument would be better to work out the music and rhythm? Piano, or accoustic guitar?

It depends on what type of sound you want for your song. If you plan to use a lot of instruments then a piano gives you much more flexibility. If you are just searching for chords for a simple melody then the acoustic guitar is more than sufficient. Usually if you are hearing a huge arrangement with horns and strings and the likes a piano gives you a greater range of notes and sounds to play with.

The guitar is easier but piano is more expressive if you play well.

both are good, but it all depends on what kind of song it will be and how you want it played
