When planting them, you want to make sure when you plant them that no water will stand on top of the base. make sure it is about level with the ground. But if you are planting multiples, make sure and give them room. I have 9 of them lining my back property line. They were about 6 ft tall when i planted them 5 years ago and they are 15 ft tall now, and look great.

it really depends if its started then obvious but if not i dunno(started should be a reasonable depth)
