My ex wont take the hint!?

Ok so me and my bf broke up yesterday. It was completly mutual and we're still friends, but the problem is he wants to go back out when he moves back here (next year) and the thing is I that I would rather eat someone's toenails and swim through a river of lava.

I just don't want to say 'I would rather eat someone's toenials and swim through a river of lava' I really dont know what to do, I dont want to hurt him because he is a really good guy! HELP!

Update:

Someone mentioned why i still want to be friends with him, and the truth is I really dont, Im not trying to be mean to him, but its so awkward trying to be friends with him.

Just tell him in a nicer way...leaving out the toenail and lava part. Tell him that you are friends and that is it...no going back out or anything. My question is why do you still want to be friends? I know he is a nice guy but you do not want to hang out with him...and friends do hang out. You decide what you want to do but don't stay friends with someone that you are afraid of hurting their feelings...its not fair to him or to you!! Good luck!

"eat someone's toenails and swim through a river of lava"...I have to remember that one.

Just tell him how you feel and in all honesty, it's very difficult for exes to become friends after a relationship. You guys had a past and he seems to have a lot of feelings for you. Once you start dating someone else and he sees this, he may do things that will drive your future lover away. Tell him he has to move on for the benefit of the two of you.

Just be honest...tell you had a great time when you were together..and that it's great that you can be friends. But that when it comes to the romantic side of you relationship you think a permanent break is best. It may hurt his feelings...but if he is going away for awhile...that gives him time to put things into perspective and move on without having to see you all the time. Not saying anything unfairly encourages him to believe there could possibly be more when he returns. By breaking it to him now and gently...maybe when he gets back you can be at a point where you can just be great friends.

Idk, some ladies like the interest. Others do not. He ought to of truly fell for you. both way it is over and he needs to maintain in mind that. the more suitable blunt and straightforward you're with him the more suitable. If it receives stalkerish, replace your variety. If he follows you or in order that happends to be the position you're anyplace you bypass, document a police document quickly. Police gained't do a lot the first time, butafter a pair cases they are going to pay more suitable interest. good success. Be propose, even although you gained't be through nature...do even if it takes to get this guy off your lower back...if all else fails ignore about each little thing. And flow on.

I'd be honest (though not as blunt as the toenails and lava stuff) and tell him that you just don't like him the way you used to. If there is a reason, tell him. Don't make up stuff or try to drop hints. Honesty is the best policy.

look he may be the nicest guy in the world but i think anybody would rather take honesty over kindness, what i mean is that you let this guy know what you want to do straight up! that's the problem with people now a days they are not straight forward with thing it help to get rid of any wonders it might hurt him at the beginning but he might thank you later for been honest with him. the guy is probably making plans so before he does all that let him know what going on on your mind . men cant possibly know what women want so you have to tell us for us to know .......

Tell him you want to take this time apart to explore your feelings and not to pressure you about it in the meantime. chances are within a year he will move on on his own. If he doesn't then at least he'll have had some time with out you and it won't be such a shock when you tell him the truth.

sometimes you have to be blunt even if you don't want to that's the only way some people get the message you don't have to be mean just tell him in a nice way that you don't want to be bothered

You can either be direct and honest and tell him "No, sorry, it's over."

    OR

You can tell him "Let's see what happens when you come back next year."

Maybe he'll find someone else in the mean time.
