Music notes help?
What's the difference if you write notes with the little flag up or down? Like if you write a note with the flag up it'll look like this (d), or down like this (q).

Notes from B on the treble staff and down are usually written with the stem up, and notes above B with stem down. The note B can go either way. When you are coming from a note below B the stem of B will usually go up as the notes before it. When the B follows a note above (with stem down) usually the B will follow in suit and have a stem going down.

The flag points up if the note is below the midline of the staff; down if above the midline.

Sixstring would be correct. Also, if there is a duet written on the same line, they would use the flag up for soprano/tenor and flag down for alto/bass.
