Pope John Paul, Gizmo, Sir Alfred,

Really, just watch his behavior for a while and a good name will come to you.

I used to go on themes, like for a while all my pets were named after classical composers and then i went through my ballet dancer phase, and now i'm using flower names, (botanical and common.) Except for the cat now named Rat.

I tend to go for the opposite. Like midnight. Or Bruiser. How about Rover. Or Old men names. Henry, Oscar, Robert (Bob), George.

Or the Street you live on or lived on. Belmont, Wilson, Clark.

I like Snowball. Really, when I name a pet, I take a day or two just to throw names at the animal until it reacts to one. I know it's corny, but I hate to think that I've named a pet something it hates.

I think the funniest pet names are the ones that are human names. With that said, I think you should name your dog "Bob" or "Mike"

Or, go with something totally random like "Moses" or "Gemini"

    Yahtzee

    Mercedes

    Elvis

    Cobra (as in mustang)'

Caviar (if you get a girl call her champagne)

    Daquari

    maxwell

I also like short cute names for boy dogs like these:

    Joe

    Lou

    Good luck!
