Do you need to host your ruby on rails application on the machine you developed it on?

I am a Mac OS X user, and develop with rails on it. I have a fedora box that i do my hosting on, and I'm wondering if there is a way I can move my app onto it to host. I couldn't find anything on the web about it.

Since ruby is available on osx you should have no problems after installing the required libraries. you might want to install the latest version of apache 2, but the old version should be simple enough to configure for ruby... or any other language!

Apache & UNIX are all there for you on OS X.

Happy new year and good coding!

I self host my dev server on os x and mainitain 100% compatibility with linux production servers.
