As a Catholic, I find that most who hate the Catholic Church, don't hate the Catholic Church, because they do not know what the Catholic Church actually teaches, but rather what people have told them what the Catholic Church teaches. These can be quite different from reality.

I definitely don't hate Catholics. And there are many God fearing Catholics that will be in heaven. Mother Teresa, Wow what a lady. But..... I don't like a lot of things about the Catholic Church. Your statement about converting brings up something very important. I would argue that there was about as much of the pagans influencing the Catholic Church as there was Catholicism influencing the pagans. I also do not support the notion that tradition has more authority than scripture. I also abhor the thought of a Christian political entity. Christ never commanded us to set up a Christian country. He made it clear that we are only travelers and that earth is not our home. I have read some of the Catechism and find that a lot of it is scriptural. But I believe that the organization itself has become corrupted by power and is the reason for the secularization of Europe. I'm not speaking of secular government, but rather the absolute drop in number of believers in Europe. It is renowned for persecuting non believers and of all things starting the crusades. It also directly responsible the darkest time in earths history. Repressing even the knowledge of the Scripture upon which it is supposedly based. If it was so truthful, it should only require scripture to quiet heretics, instead of relying on burning them to death. I am sorry if this upsets you. Like I said earlier, I know there will be MANY catholics that are going to be in heaven, but I feel that Satan has used the Church for evil for a very long time and will continue to do so until Jesus returns.

I believe that the reason I left the roman catholic church was that it wasn't teaching me about Jesus and a Godly way of life.

I moved through a few different churches until I remained in the same church for twenty years.

I do not hate the r/c church. I hate what it teaches about saints, Mary and other non biblical material. It is Jesus that I want to serve and not an organizations. That is what I believe other Christians think about the r/c church. I certainly hope people do not hate it. Jesus said, "if I be lifted up, I will draw all men to me."

Actually your question would have been fine if you had stopped before adding " the Roman Catholic Church." The Southern Baptist/ Evangelical/ Caharismatic movement is all about hate. You opnly need to catch the Seven Hundred Club or almost anything from "Focus on The Family" to catch that. It is not necessary to check out Westboro Baptist or Fred Phelps. One glance at a few Jack Ckick tracts will show you what they are about too. They don't just hate the Catholics, they hate everybody. They even get into major arguments about who they should hate first or most.

Oh are you mistaken. The Roman Catholic Church tried to convert Europe to Christianity and away from Paganism. And failed miserably except by the point of the sword.

Read the true history of the Roman Catholic Church and tell me that they converted anyone except by the point of the sword and by taking in the rites and rituals of these

religions to try and get them to convert. They still use their rites and rituals even though they call the Religions that they took them from SATAN and Devil worshipers.Talk about HYPOCRISY.

Its simple...the Roman Catholic Church is misunderstood

If people just tried to understand why we Catholics do what we do then everyone would be a lot better off

I dont hate them. but i doubt the teachings.

The Roman Catholic Church says they converted europe from Paganism to Christianity but actually, the Roman Catholic Church was the one Paganized.

Research church history from a non-catholic point of view. The catholic church murdered more Christians than Hitler did Jews by a factor of 10. And that just the first point.

It astounds me that people still try to compare religions. We have all sinned and fell short of the glory of God. There is a God and it is not me. I am a Catholic, and I have found no one hates me for my beliefs. BTW, we converted those pagans by killing them until they were good Catholics. I invite your attention to the Spanish inquisition for some good gory reading. "Do it my way or I will kill you" is not good sound religious doctrine.
