You should get a window washer from tucows, com or download.com Webroot window washer is probably the most popular and certainally efficient, but it only is a 30 day fre trial shareware. However you also can find a window washer that is freeware from tucows, or at least I grabbed one there a few months ago.

There is a hellova lot more garbage on you computer that just your temporary internet files, and whether you are worried about something incriminating being on your machine or not, you would be wise to wash it regularly anyway. Because all those files just keep on multiplying like rabbits, and that bogs down your computer the longer you use it.

Every video you watch, the windows player leaves trax on your computer what was watched. Every picture you draw in microsoft paint, that leaves trax on your computer. As well as several other activites you proibably regularly preform, Gates got carried away with writing the windows code, so that all kinds of records are buried deep in your windows system that you do not need there, even if you have nothing to hide you still don't need to use up your hard drive with that useless junk files windows automatically generates all by itself!.

My gues is you will be absolutely amazed at all the stuff windows automatically puts on your system that you did not want or need in the form of temp files, and logs, and all like that, after you wash it with a good window washer.

All the other people are right, but I recommend that you just go download CCleaner -- http://ccleaner.com/ -- and use that (it's freeware). It'll also zap cookies (you can set up a whitelist), general temp files, and lots of other crud. Be sure to uncheck the box in the installer for the "CCleaner Yahoo Toolbar" if you don't want that, though.

You can't delete the Temporary Internet Files folder itself manually, but you should be able to delete the files inside (provided Internet Explorer isn't running).

you can go the tools internet options route, but it wont' delete them all.....

run a search for temporary internet files on your pc,,, open the folder, then select everything in the file and hit delete.

also, when you're done, run a disk clean up (start, accessories, system tools, and then disk clean up) and it will get rid of all the rest of the stuff you dont need.

    good luck!!

    You can't delete the folder.

    Just it's contents.

    Go

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.

That will clean up all the **** on your PC Incl. the Temp. Internet files.

    After that has finished do

Start > Programs > System Tools > Disk Defrag.

That just keeps things running smooth.

in the int. explorer go to menu, choose tools, then internet options, than click on the advance tab, and almost at the very bottom of the list you'll find "empty temp. internet files when browser is closed" - make sure to check it and then press ok.

    happy browsing...
