Do you agree it's ok for religous people to believe absurd things...?

as long as they don't try to destroy the world in their attempt to bring about the rapture.

It's not reasonable, certainly, but 'as long as they don't try to destroy the world in their attempt to bring about the rapture', I couldn't care less. Still, I don't think they're doing too good a job of not destroying the world in their attempt to bring about the rapture.

Many Christians who do not agree that there will be a pre-tribulation rapture of the Church point out that it is a relatively new doctrine, first popularized in the 1800s and elaborated on subsequently. There are whole denominations that reject it for this reason. The Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox do not accept it either, as such a thing as "rapture" was never taught by any of their bishops, from the beginning. Instead of "being taken up into Heaven", these churches follow the scriptures (such as Isaiah) clearly describing a physical Kingdom of Heaven that will be on a renewed Earth, following the Great Tribulation, the Resurrection of the Dead, and Judgment Day. For all practical purposes no Christians held to the pre-tribulation rapture theory before Darby in the 1820s.

Do you agree it's ok for atheists to believe absurd things? LIke ape like creatures over billions of years, and chance random processes turned into human beings.

And how fish once had legs.

and an explosiion occured at some point, some way, sometime, we dont' really know how or why and in that moment it had just the right temperature, just enough information and everything just happened so perfectly and out of this explosion, came time, order and life :D

So all the information and intelligence required for life came from an explosion.

See, you laugh at the idea of the rapture, but your entire point in being here relies on an explosion.

They can believe anything they want as long as they do not

    1 - destroy the world,

2 - force their religion and absurd stories onto other people and

3 - tell lies to get people to do their dirty work for them - like killing innocent people.

I believe one of the founding principles of the USA is the right to believe what you want as long as it doesn't impinge upon the rights of other people. What is the alternative? The alternative just got hung in Bahgdad!

I think everyone should be free to believe in Little Red Riding Hood if they liked, and wait for her to come round for tea, why not.

    Just keep the cakes warm.

Yeah, just like its okay for non-religious people to believe absurd things... for example, like there is no God. Remember, your absurd is someone else's normal, and your normal is their absurd.
