When did Disney buy the looney tunes catalogue?

Update:

I am having a debate with a friend of mine is all. I am pretty sure Disney never bought the Looney Tunes catalogue-that's something that is major, and I am sure I would have heard. No online resources indicate that this event happened. So I thought maybe someone would verify for me. LOL.

Disney and Warner Brothers are the two biggest media corporations in the world. The two are in direct competition, much like Coke and Pepsi.

Warner Brothers would never give Disney control of Looney Toons, any more than Pepsi would sell it's name and recipe to Coke.

Looney Toons and Disney characters have only appeared in animation together in one movie, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (a Disney Movie).
