Math Question?

See I have this real life math question that I need to solve.

If you gain 1% every three minutes, how much percent would you gain in six hours?

Its a brain twister, but I want more than just an answer. Give me a fomula to use, or tell me how you came to your conclusion.

Update:

NOT 3% every 1 minute, 1% every 3 minutes. Just making this clear.

    1% in 3 min

    divide 60 min by 3 = 20 so you gain 20 % in 60 minutes or 1 hour

    in 6 hours you would gain 6 x 20 = 120%

    A formula: ?? 1% = 3 min

    20% = 60 min

    x % = 360 min ( 6 hours)

    x = 20 x 360 divided by 60

    x = 120 %

    6 hr/3 min = 6x60 min/3 min = 120 times

    Gain in six hours is (1 + 1%)^120 - 1 = 230%
