That was just the first trial. They will continue to have trials for Saddam even though he won't be around.

Because the other deaths would implicate the actions of the USA and other western governments at a time when they supported him. That's why he was only tried on the one charge and executed before the other trials. He didn't carry out his atrocities alone and some of his accomplices have been put back in power by the occupying forces. The torture chambers are open for business again.

They tried him on the one charge which was killing several hundred Kurdish people, he was faced with many more charges but you can only hang him once. The Iraqui people tried him, convicted him and carried out the sentence they gave him. The U.N. nor the American people had no position in trying him.

Saddam himself personally killed that many. That's what he was on trial for. The many many others were killed by his henchmen under Saddam's orders.

For expediency. As long as he was alive Saddam still cut an intimidating figure to the Iraqi people.

Each event needs its own evidence, witnesses, testimony, prosecution and defense. Based on the evidence, apparently 147 in one instance was enough. Are you suggesting he may not have killed MILLIONS, or that he may not have killed ANY?

they have to have different trials, and they did pick the one that could get through the laeagel system fastest,

saddam was slated to be tried on 14 other charges ..

Saddam killed Millions for sure but it was hard to try him for all of them, he got what he deserved regardless which is an eternity in the pits of Hell.

It's the only one they could really verify solidly within a legal system. You don't convict a person with the death sentence unless you have completely air tight conviction.
