what is this dark line on my neck?

i have this dark line on my neck that looks like i haven't washed it in days but i do... somedays it look like its not there and some day it looks really dark what is it? the doctor said i have pigment on my neck and gave me some cream but it hasn't done anything

I have the same thing, the sad thing is, you cant get rid of it and its unpredictable. I use aveeno or any gentile lotions not like the bars of soap but have oatmeal or natural ingredients. Scrub you neck with a wash cloth and rinse. If you havent notice there are lines in the area which are very easy to catch dirt. Other than that nothing can really help it.

Acanthosis nigricans. About 10% of people have some form of it. It won't get worse, but it has no cure.
