I'm not sure what you mean by where it came from, can you please explain what you mean? But the symbol, Ca, like all symbols on the periodic table of the elements comes from the scientific name of the element, in this case the Latin word(s) calx or calcis.(meaning lime, chalk)
It was discovered by Sir Humphrey Davy in 1808 in England.
