Able To Contract Hep A.?


today i touched this jamaican 50 cent coin. i found it in a drawer. i ate fruit afterwards with my hands, could i contract hep a.?

    Most likely not. First, the person that handled the coin prior to you would have had to be infectious with the disease. Second, he would have had to handle it recently. The virus can't survive that long (it depends on environmental conditions, but a month at most). So if this coin was in a drawer for a long time, there is zero risk of getitng hepatitis A from it.

    hoestly it depends on weather or not it was in contact with an infected persons feces. (poop) Hep A is contracted through feces.
