Yeah, I would've thought they'd lose and pick up Brady Quinn next year...

That's not what NFL fans are paying the coaches and players to do, to intentionally lose a game. With the salaries they make, the players should go 100% every game.

Like the 49ers today, all they had to play for was a 7-9 final record instead of 6-10, whereas Denver needed a win/tie to make the playoffs.

Maybe, since they were in a tie for last place with Oakland. It's possible Oakland had a worse division record and have the first round draft choice. I thought Detroit played like the team going to the playoffs.

no, as great as a first round draft pick is winning helps boost a teams morale, and plus you don't want to lose your job. Owners hate losing games, even if it is for a first round draft pick.

oh, and i would not trust the Lions to make a good draft pick. they will probably pull another Houston and draft some player which wont help them much, like another WR

Besides, a 2nd pick is cheaper than the 1st pick. a QB picked #1 is cheaper than the same QB if he were takend #2 so it is usless unless you know for a fact that team is going to take the player you want to draft

The fans all want the #1 draft pick, but when you are playing football as ur career, you dont just walk off without a fight. Especially in a big football city like Detroit.

well that's not gonna happen now as they beat the cowboys so the raiders will have the 1st pick in the draft with the lions getting the 2nd pick in the draft oh and by the way happy new years

no. there is more pressure on the team picking 1st, cuz they have to throw a lot of money at whoever they pick and have no idea what kind of nfl career they will have (remember ryan leaf, lol). i think picking 4th is the best spot, u don't have to throw money at a guy, and u get to see a couple of other teams pick ahead of you and get an idea on how to pick your player. and brady quinn will not be the 1st pick in the draft, oakland needs a solid qb, and i think brian brohm will fit perfect. 2nd i think troy smith and 3rd calvin johnson. 4-10 i have no clue

No. I think there is value going into next season with a quality win to end the season.

No, there are more than just one good player available and first pick does not grantee a star player.

No, I applaud them, if though they weren't in the playoffs they play hard. I was totally disappointed with the way my COWBOYS PLAYED. BUT AS A COWBOY FAN I'M STILL WITH THEM
