If Bush is an Evangelical/born again Christian w/ strong beliefs in the Book of Revelations how could he want,

anything but total war in the Mideast? Because as all of us good Christians out there know, the ONLY way the Messiah will return to earth is if there is a massive war going on in the Mideast (especially Babylon/Iraq) & with the Jews back in Israel/holy land the only thing Bush has to do is escalate the war in the Mideast by sending in more troops, wait for the anti-christ & Jesus will make his long awaited return to earth.

Update:

Christian Zionists hastened the recreation of Israel so that the Jews could return to the holy land (which had to happen if the Messiah was to return to earth) so why can't Bush hasten the arrival of the Messiah by starting a war in Iraq? It may not say anywhere in the bible that christians should hasten the 2nd arrival of Christ but it also does not say that they shouldn't. And Christian zionists know this all too well.

a extra helpful translation is "blessed" are people who examine and hear the words of John's prophecy, however the which potential is comparable. Why? as a results of fact John and a few (not all) of the Christians interior the church homes of Asia Minor that he wrote to had experienced persecution on the palms of the Roman Empire. John of course has vivid memories of the destruction of Jerusalem (that's the reason the e book ends with the descent of a 'new' Jerusalem and why John calls Rome 'Babylon' - the different large historic empire that destroyed the city) and famous it annoying to comprehend why the different Christians he writes to are happy to stay in cohesion with greco-roman society. His e book is sturdy information for people who want to make certain the punishment and destruction of Rome (Revelation 17-18) and the advent of a extra helpful worldwide (Revelation 21). it is likewise sturdy information becuase, on your guy or woman translation, 'the appointed time is close to'. The e book of Revelation predicts that the activities it describes are approximately to ensue 'quickly'. This concept is repeated distinctive cases interior the hollow and shutting chapters. In view of the undeniable fact that it became very almost unquestionably written interior the final third of the 1st century CE, we can not get away the undeniable fact that those predictions proved to be fake. In answer on your final question, the e book of Revelation should not be understood as a stable handbook to widespread activities or the "end of the worldwide". even inspite of the shown fact that, it might warn us that the god of the "new testomony" isn't inevitably on the area of the final, wealthiest and maximum efficient civilizations of immediately. If something, Christians would desire to be the defenders of people who locate themselves victims of greed and war mongering and the propoganda of ability. Many by the worldwide immediately journey the large nationwide and fiscal powers as amoral, bestial, and damaging. To be authentic to the imaginative and prescient of Revelation, readers are invited to "prophesy' against such abuses extremely than meekly adjust to their surrounding societies like the wealthy and self happy Christians that John addresses interior the church homes of Asia Minor.

You aren't very well read in the Bible or you would know that certain events have to happen prior to Armageddon.

You might go back and read revelations and ezekiel 38,39.

While Christians are to look forward to his return, by no means should they try to hasten the events or minipulate the the time line.

Your statement is a misrepresentation of the book of Revelation. Nothing a single man on earth will do can bring about the end times. War in the Middle East is NOT the catalyst. In fact, peace in the Middle east will be a hallmark of the anti-christ.

This is a misunderstanding of Scripture, in my opinion.

Christians are told to "occupy til I come." This means we still do what's right.

Ultimately, if peace and democracy is rejected in Iraq, it will not be because we didn't try.

Nowhere in Scripture are Christians told to hasten the end.

You're right-although I'd add there are many Christians other than the Born Again variety-wish they'd be louder. Everyone is saying we should be getting out-and he wants to escalate...

  • Actually, that's not entirely true. The coming of Christ will only occur once the region has been in peace for a period, led by the antichrist.

Nothing President Bush does will make it happen any sooner.

He may believe that he is hasting "The Coming", he says he "prays all the time" clarifying that statement with several times a day, Sooo maybe he hears God answer. I am tempted to believe the devil has guided him.

Actually, that is Ahmadahandenijad's religious beliefs also. Funny how they are both at the opposite ends trying to accomplish the same thing?
