how do I get Xmas tree sap off of my oak coffeetable?

    This would depend on the finish of the table, and whatever you try should be tested on a hidden area of finish to be sure it won't attack the finish. To do that, just rub a very small area with the cleaner and wait a bit. If the finish becomes sticky or dissolves, the item can't be used.

    Sap will cut with mineral solvents. That includes some thing you don't want to use, so let me suggest some that would be likely to work:

    Turpentine

    Paint thinner

    Paint prep solvent, such as is used is auto painting. This is available at auto paint stores ans some auto parts stores.

    kerosene

    Most such items are flammable. Take care.

    i worked at lowes and we use to get sap on our hands and clothes. one of the girls told us to use rubbing alcohol.
