Pain, passion, compassion, misguidance with a sense of direction, greater strength against disability, the world's lonliest companion. Explorer of the God and the UnGod.

Misinterpreted by feminists who came after her, misunderstood by traditionalists and by impressionists of her time.

Freida Kahlo is a moving force in the lives of practicing women artists. She is a mentor of portrait students. If you look at her most attractive portraits she will teach you how to paint a face well. I know women who have had dreams about Freida Kahlo and moved to Mexico City the next day.

  • a good communist that violated the laws of art due to her ignorence of the craft.

it is her passion in painting and political strugle that gave her a spot in the light. If Frida Kahlo was not from the left, nobody would have noticed her or her simle naive art work.

but in any which way she achived, what others dream!

true love for life unto death!

A brilliant and pained soul who sought expression through her own pain delving into the depths of the psyche. A brilliant and terrifying life, brilliant and sometimes nightmarishly terrifying paintings that are often are unbearably painful to view.

If you marry a famous artist, are promoted by liberal press for your left-wing politics and art bought and promoted by Hollywood types (Madonna) because they think it is "cool" to do for various reasons (her politics, her feminist thinking) then your art then it will get lots of publicity, too.

Without any of that (ecspecially her first steps of being married/associated with an already famous artist) no one would have heard of Frido. There are many other female artists that deserve more credit than Frido.
