cheese and liver are the biggest culprits causing the stinkiest gas in dogs.

Overall, examine the diet -- are there table scraps? how high of quality is the food you are feeding her? (cheep kibble or high quality?). A good quality diet should eliminate most gas in dogs.

You can also get activated characol from pet food supply stores that can help.

Instead of feeding your dog 1 or 2 portions of food per day, divide the daily ration into smaller portions and feed the dog more frequently.

Sometimes dogs eat too quickly because they fear their food will be taken away, so feed your dog in a quiet comfortable area.

Exercise the dog more frequently to stimulate its intestines.

Choose a premium brand of dog food that is highly digestible.

There are products on the market that can can be added to dog food in order to reduce farting but these should only be used after consulting your veterinarian. Activated charcoal is often used in this regard and it does absorb the bad smelling gasses that cause bad flatulence. It must be used with caution and only occasionally however, since it can also rob the dog's body of the nutrients it is getting from its food.

It should be noted that although bad flatulence can be reduced, all dogs (just like all humans) experience daily flatulence and it should never be your intention to get your dog to stop farting altogether.

  • First of all, how long's it been going on? Can be from an illness. Gastrointestinal problems, or parvovirus..can include bad gas.

But if it's more of a regular thing, look at food. Purina or Pedigree cause gastrointestinal problems in most dogs which includes nasty gas. Both these feeds are crap. But all dog food in grocery stores is. If it's possibly diet related, find a store that sells better foods and has some knowledgeable staff and talk to them. They can point you in the right direction. Even if already on a premium feed, your dog could be allergic to a certain ingredient (s). If all else fails, get an appointment with a good vet.

try changing her food and no table scraps. If this doesn't work after a few days take her to the vet.

are you feeding her human food, because I wouldn't think dog food would make her fart.

HAHA that made me laugh :P anyways it could be something you're feeding her thats causing alot of gas. Maybe cheese or something, test it out see what's causing it.
