I guess it depends on the doctor. Mine checks for pregnancy hormone, blood type, immunity to measles, mumps and rubella, HIV, and other things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

They will take several vials of blood to do the following tests:

    • Blood type, Rh factor, and antibody screening

    • Complete blood count

    • German measles (rubella) immunity

    • Chicken pox immunity

    • Hepatitis B testing

    • Syphilis screening

    • HIV testing

And genetic screening if you fall "at risk":

    • Cystic fibrosis screening

    • Sickle cell screening

    • Tay-Sachs Screening

    • Thalassemia Screening

one thing they checked me for was blood type. I had the kind of blood type that could have affected my pregnancy. They also check for diseases.

usually several things: blood type and RH factor with antibody screening, HCG levels, usually a test for rubella immuntiy, a Hep B screen, STD screen, HIV test and a complete CBC to make sure everything comes back normal.
