Can Anyone Help With This Question About God?
I was just told by several people that the reason God(Jesus) had be born of the virgin Mary and live for 30 years as a human being was so that he "could understand what it is to be human."
What???? . . . . . . God, the one who created us, had to come down here and be a human being himself for awhile in order to understand what it's like to be one?
Is this right? Or did the people who told me this just give a wrong answer?

Whats also amazing is we are expected to believe, that in order to understand what humans go through He was
1) Miraculously conceived through a virgin
2) God in the flesh
3) Ministered to by angels
4) Had the heavens opened when he was baptized
5) Dealt with Satan directly (yeah, how tempting)
6) Had powers over disease and demons
7) Had the powers to walk on water and heal the sick
8) Could call down angels with a single command
9) Rose from the grave
10) Ascended into heaven
This is to be considered living and experiencing life like a human being ????!?!
How easy did he want it.
Like wow, this is what we all go through in our lives.

In the Jewish Temple tradition a man must be 30 yrs. old to become a minister. When John the Baptist baptized Jesus he told Jesus that He should be baptizing him and Jesus said, "Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness." Matt. 3:15. After Jesus' baptism the Spirit of God in the symbol of a "dove" descended upon Jesus and the voice from heaven came, "My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." The Father speaks, the Holy Spirit descends and the Son is baptized. The entire Godhead was there, the Holy Trinity. Jesus met all the duties of a faithful Jew. Directly thereafter the Holy Spirit took Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil just like we are tempted, yet Jesus was tempted without sin.
Jesus had to be tempted in every way as we are tempted. Christ's ministry on earth is He was tempted and did not sin.
Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world is what the Bible tells us. Jesus knew exactly what that cup at the Cross entailed and He took all those sins and diseases upon Himself gladly so He could give us eternal life. No greater love has any man than what our Savior did on that cross for you and me.

Hebrews 9:14-16 (King James Version)
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
I believe this made Jesus a more righteous judge.

God didn't put himself into Jesus. Jesus is God's son. Jesus was put on earth as a human to 1.to show u that u can walk this life and be perfect and love everyone even thy enemy.2.since he was perfect when he died his innocent blood was shed therefore your sins are covered by his blood shed henceforth the old saying are u washed in the blood of the lamb. God Bless You.radar

Well, maybe I can clairyfy the definitiopn of understanding whta it is like to be Human. God already knows waht it is like to be human, but in order for him to die as the perfect sacrifice, he had to live in the shoes of a human and indure the temptations and hardships of human lfe ,then go to the cross and die. the reason Jesus died is because of sin which is transgression of the ten Commandments. IN other words, everytime you have lied, stolen, looked with lust, used Gods name in vain ect, you have sinned against God and angered him to wrath. The Bible makes clear God will see that justice is executed upon all those found guilty of transgressing his law, However he sent his son so we wouldnt have to go to hell. when jesus came, he payed the penalty for the sin you have comitted. If you wil repent (turn from sin) and trust in jesus, God will forgive you and grant you everlasting life. when your time comes and they place your body in a coffin, your soul will be dewelling with the Lord.

That's the standard line in Christianity. Whether you believe that or not is up to you. Personally I don't believe that the kind of God that would be so alienated from his creation that he would even need to visit here in the form of Jesus would be worth worshiping. If God claims to love us he should have done it from the beginning of time. Instead the Bible God lords it over us, tortures us with disease and misfortune, and tells us to love him anyway, like an abusive parent.

I suspect the major reason, God, ie the word, ie ( ), ie (nothing), was made flesh was to show people the way to the truth....a way of carrying one's cross, humbly, justly....
Problem is most Christians, at least some, don't understand this...they carry guns...not their crosses to battle...
The devil has corrupted the world...and we live in a world of half-truths...
What are half-truths ? Check on wikipedia, they have the best new insights into how truth can lie...
Half-truths we believe.
"Stop violence against women'
A classic two half-truths, the real issue is abuse, and men and children are missing.
This is how the devil has deceived the world....and many conceal this fact.
Education of half-truths and corrupt logic is paramount in this nation.
Back to your question. God came to this world as a humble child, a paradox to try to present to the world a model for coping with evil...and how to defeat it through peaceful means, allowing the devil and those he posses not to manipulate you to be like evil as in retaliation.
We still have not learned.Source(s): The LIGHT: The Rainbow of Truth. http://www.thejesuschristcode.com/

He had to experience all that we experience as humans and be tested by Satan, to see if he would sin.He did this, and was tested many times. He lived a sinless life therefore was proven to be the one to Atone for our sins. He knelt in the Garden of Gethsemene and took upon him all of our sins. He died on the Cross so that we all have the chance at Eternal Life.

They gave you the wrong answer.
The reason he came was to die for us for the remission of our sins so we can one day have eternal life. YOu see, without a sacrifice there is no remission of our sins and Jesus was the perfect sacrifice. Now all you have to do is repent and get baptized in Jesus name (Acts 2:38) (born again) and live upon his commandments. God bless!
