In my bathroom, where does the fumes from the exhaust fan go? I live in a new house...does it get filtered?

air gets filtered going into someplace, not out from someplace, new houses are ducted, to outside, most have a little hinged flap to keep air from coming in when fan is off.
note:exhaust fans are not required in bathrooms with windows

the fan dosent suck in air it expelles it generally thru a vent pipe out your roof and no it dosent get filtered

no, that's not filtered and it's exhausted outside your house on the roof (mostly), there's a pipe that extends out and it's vented outside.

IT IS AN EXHAUST VENT WHICH SUCKS IT OUT EITHER INTO THE ATTIC SPACE, SOFFITT AREA AND OR ROOF VENT DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCAL CODE.
SOME TIMES CALL A FART FAN REMOVES ODOR AND MOISTURE TO REDUCE SMELL AND SWEATING OF WINDOW AND MIRRORS.
