How do you get the holes in a sponge?????

    They mix two chemicals together that harden into a rubber. As it is getting harder it gives off a gas that makes bubbles. The bubbles form the holes.

    Real sponge form that way to trip food. A sponge is just another form of coral. The inside of the sponge is dead. It is only the outer tips that are alive. As each cell grows it forms a new outer skin and so on.

    Synthetic sponges are maufactured to have small holes/pores.
