What makes a 3 way touch lamp automatically come on? (without touching it)?

Last night while sleeping my touch lamp by my bed just came on, at first it scared me but it did it twice. I was just wondering what could automatically make it come on like that?

    Touch lamp controls have very sensitive electronic circuits to detect when you touch them. A random power line spike, possibly caused by a high-powered load turning on or off, could inadvertently trigger the touch control.

    A heat source may also cause this to happen as well.

    Does a heater of radiator flow near it?
