Eid Al-Adha-------did you notice this?
Saddam was hanged just as the Sunni Eid began. The Shia do not start Eid till Sunday. Do you consider that this was planned, as another insult to the Sunnis?
Tapestry---it was the Shai that Saddam did so much to-not the Sunnis.
This is the Sunni Eid celebration. Having a Shia dominated government--Sunday is the ordained holiday-it is the Shia Eid.

Why is there a difference in when Eid is celebrated anyway? Yes, everyone noticed. The law in Iraq says no executions are to take place on official holidays. The government there has declared the official Eid to begin on Sunday, so it isn't in violation of the law. There is nothing that I am aware of in Islam which prohibits execution of criminals on feast days.

Muslims were ordered not to divide themselves into sects by the Prophet(PBUH*) so they wouldn't be like the Christians and Jews. Therefore they're not following Prophet Muhammed's(PBUH*) teachings. As to the other thing I am not sure.

I would think anyone that did as much damage to the Sunnis and Sadam did it wouldn't be an insult.. it would be a relief.

It doesn't matter. 99.9% of Sunnis never supported him. His only support system was the Baath party in Iraq.
