go2 Start--(click) Run...--(type) "msconfig"-- OK -- click on the Startup tab -- find the messenger and uncheck the box.

Note: you can modify all your programs with "msconfig", but be careful what you uncheck.

go to START, then go to RUN then in the window type msconfig then hit OK. Go to the section that says STARTUP . In this section towards the bottom you can disable any of the programs you want. But be careful now.

Msconfig can keep a lot of unnecessary things from starting up and speed up your computer.

go to add/remove in the control panel and remove it. or before you go on the internet, uncheck the sign in automatically box on the messenger screen.
