    Well,

Dallas Cowboys won 52-17 over the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVII

Montreal Canadiens won 4 games to 1 over the Los Angeles Kings to take the Stanley Cup

Pete Sampras & Steffi Graf won Wimbledon

Dale Jarrett won the Daytona 500

Dale Earnhardt won the NASCAR Championship

Emerson Fittipaldi won the Indianapolis 500 &

Alain Prost won the Formula One Championship

Miguel Indurain won the Tour de France

The Toronto Blue Jays won 4 games to 2 over the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series & the Colorado Rockies and Florida Marlins played their inaugural season

North Carolina won 77-71 over Michigan in the NCAA (those were the days, when MI was good enough to GET to the finals...)

Chicago Bulls won 4 games to 2 over the Phoenix Suns to complete their first three-peat of the decade.

    - Michael Jordan announced his retirement on October 6.

And Evander Holyfield beat Riddick Bowe by decision (12 rounds)regain the Heavyweight title. The "fan man fight".

That's the jist of it anyway.

Underdog Phillies beat Braves to win NL Pennant. Joe Carter's walk off home run in game 6 for the Blue Jays to win world series over Phillies.

Other than that not much happened of any consequence.
