it is all staged and choreographed. They practice the moves to avoid injury. The outcomes are pre-determined. It's really just acting and stunt work. It's no more real than a fight scene in a movie. Or, think of it as a male-oriented soap opera with outstanding physicality and stunt work.

I think I saw a documentary a long time ago showing how some of it actually is rehearsed. The supposed "good" and "bad" guys actually get together and practice routines. But this was about 10 years ago, and that's not to say that every wrestling organization is like that. Who knows for sure (except wrestlers and those close to the action). Some of it is real and some is fake. When a guy hits you over the head with a chair and rams you into a fence or steel rail, it's real. But if you're bodyslammed on the mat (which does sting quite a bit, I'm sure), and lay there for an aggonizing 10 minutes while the other guy climbs 30 feet to jump off the top of the cage so you can allow him to thrust his knee into your neck.... some of that seems a little dramatic. Either way, it's a sport like any other. Those guys stay in great shape because they have to. They take quite a beating.

Yes the matches are choreographed. They do have scripts and characters. But it doesn't make them any less of a athlete. It takes a lot of training to be able to do the things they do. It's not like in the movies where there using special effects to pull off some of the stunts. These people are actually doing the lifting, jumping, etc

Many of the moves are real, there just done in a controled settings. Wrestling on TV or what you see in the pay per views is no different than watching a soap opera or movie. If somebody takes a punch in one of those you don't think it is real. This is no different. It is just another form of entertainment.

well to just answer your question, its not true...true in the sense all moves are pre-planned...But what do some guys mean fake????It is a source of entertainment-WWE stands for world wrestling entertainment...it is just for entertainment...But having said this the moves though pre-planned will hurt...some atleast...A last ride will hurt...Tombstone will hurt but the person's head never touches the ground. But these guys are real atheletes better than any movie stars! Its a great show and a lot of fun....

p.s- vince mcmohan and hhh are good friends in real life...

It is sortof fake- most of the moves are choreographed, and only made to look like they hurt. But a lot of them really do hurt. Like when Rey Mysterio had to get knee surgery from the "I quit" match, that was real. The inferno match...real. It's a very dangerous buisness. The wrestlers not only need to be prepared to take and give a good beating, but they need to be good actors, also. Some of the men that "hate" eachother on the show, are actually good friends in real life. That was apparent when footage from when they went to Iraq to visit the souldiers was shown. But a few of them really don't get along in real life.

wrestling is "real". majority of the slaps, kicks, punches. are real there is no way getting hit in the head by a steal chair is fake, it does hurt (i know i'm training) but yes the end of the matches are predetermined and with the new kids the entire match is predetermined as well but if you look at the older wrestlers they go by the crowd. they "talk" to each other in the ring. you also get the shooters (wrestlers that really are trying to hurt the other wrestler) but not as many as back in the day.

Wrestling is not actually a sport, but considered as "Sports Entertainment." You have to think of Wrestling as Good Entertainment other than just Athletes faking Wrestling Moves to actually enjoy it.

Some of it is real and some of it is fake and rehearsed before the show. Sometimes it goes wrong and people get injured but that only happens occasionally. I can imagine that getting bodyslammed onto the mat does sting but doesnt hurt too much.

like everyone says the matches are all staged but it hurts to get slammed down or hit with a chair. the punches and kicks are fake you can tell when someone gets a drop kick they start falling back. this is due to you would be cripplied bad the punishment they feel like when they get a chop is real those would kill

SMACK_DOWN and WWE and WWWHatever is not only fake it is not wrestling. Watch Real Pro Wrestling, or catch some high school, college, or Olympic matches, THAT is wrestling. Starved, dehydrated, highly disciplined athletes using every muscle and brain fiber to outwit and outperform their opponent in one of the world's oldest (and personally speaking, greatest) sports. Not some over-paid, egotistical, steroid injecting, thespian with not enough acting skill to be cast in a daytime soap opera, "performing" to sell product and entertain low-brow adolescents.
