If the mole is dark in color?, has any hair on it?, has it changed in size? has it been bleeding at all? The best rule of thumb is see your doctor if your not sure. Any changes at all, remove it!don't risk it. The above indications are what Dr's look for in pre-cancerous moles. The physician my biopsy it first (depending on the condition of the mole) and then remove it. Don't wait. YOu can also look up on the internet, Medical google search, moles, neveas moles, cancer moles good luck!

Source(s): Medical referrence books, working for a physican for many years as an assistant. Also, my son had one, dark, hairy, on his leg, as he grew it grew. We had it removed and never worry any more!

If a mole stays unchanged its supposed to be okay. Any bleeding or increase in size are signs. But best to have a doctor look at it and tell you for sure.

look for changes in size and in color. It is common to get moles as you age. However, always consult a physician if something looks or feels slightly suspicious. the most common color change is lighter to darker...good luck to you

generally it will change colour and get darker. It will also get bigger or change shape. If you are worried, get it checked.
