    YES.

Especially if you activate the plunger and contaminated blood from inside the needle injected.

    BUT

HIV can survive in open air if it is on a surface

NO You Cannot get AIDS from a Needle in such a situation

When the Needle is attached to the syringe, then there is a threat of AIDS.

But when we remove the needle from the syringe, then there is NO THREAT, as the virus gets killed on contact with atmosphere.

You know rightly that the virus dies in open air.

This hoax is up there with other hoaxes such as the one by A Paani Puri Waala (Street Vendor).

to be technical..no u cannot get AIDS from that needle...well not immediately..but hiv transmission is a reality...as well as other diseases like hepatitis...i have heard the stories and the concensus is that it needs to be a direct blood to blood innoculation becos the virus is sensitive to damage from the enviroment...dried bloody needles pose a bio hazard so let the take home message be...watch where u sit and treat all suspicious situations with caution...enjoy the show

It probably depends how long the needle has been there !! It is a big risk, no question about it, wouldn't wish on anyone. I guess if the blood in the syringe is dry, there is a tiny little less of a chance to get infected. Damn dangerous !!!!!

yes but i wouldnt let it worry you that much, aids usually comes after the HIV virus, and if it is in a chair at the cinema etc, you aint gonna do a lot in life if that is your concern.

i always belive if your number is up then you aint gonna do anything about it!

aids cant be put into the air.

I think so. Not too sure about it. A person with AIDS has to pierce himself with a needle for it to be a problem. I'm not sure. But I think so.
