I am channeling Barney from "How I Met Your Mother" here...
Suit up!
You dont want to be "that guy"., and if everyone else looks casual... take off your jacket.

It depends on how formal the wedding is. If it is a church wedding, you can't go wrong with a nice suit and tie. If it's an outdoor wedding, maybe kakis and a pastel dress shirt. Maybe take a sport coat just in case. If a wedding is in the evening, chances are it will probably be more formal than a day wedding.
No T-shirts or jeans unless of course the couple requests it.

What is the theme of the Wedding?
There are weddings where the groom wears Khakis
There are weddings where the groom wears a Tuxedo
There are weddings where the groom wears Plain jeans
There are so many types of weddings ask around it you can't find out what everyone else is wearing, the safest thing you can do is Pick out a snazzy suit with a great looking tie.
Best of luck!

It really depends how formal the wedding ceremony is. You don't want to under dress or over dress.
So look at the location of the wedding ceremony and decide what to wear.
I believe something neat, presentable and smart should be fine.

If it is in the evening or a cocktail hour you should include a suitcoat, you can always take it off later. If it is daytime, you can relax a bit, maybe a pair of dress slacks, nice shoes and a nice top.

Wear what you'd wear to church, unless you wear a suit there. It should be nice, but doesn't have to be a suit.
