Why do so many "Christians" not read the Bible? Why do you ask questions answered thousands of years ago?

Christians are human. Not perfect. Some are lazy. Some attend churches where they do not promote learning because they think it will divide the church. We all do our best. Or I guess we all would say we hope someday to do our best but until then we are working on it.

I'm just spitballing here, but perhaps they choose not to just follow the word of some guy who died thousands of years ago. I'm not Christian, but have read the bible. What is the point of life if you do not question why you should believe something just because they say it's the truth? I say you should learn on your own and not just be another sheep in the flock. If you believe even after that, then you are truly special and should have more faith than anyone else because you've already asked all the questions.

If by "read the Bible" you mean that not all Christians are going to sit down, recite the Bible cover-to-cover, and remember every detail, then no, most of us will not "read the Bible". We know our material fairly well, some better than others, but still enough to know what we believe in.

And sometimes it's more productive to ask a question to someone who already knows the answer than to go search for it ourselves. It may take days to find the answer by ourselves, but 15 minutes if we let someone else explain it to us.

After all, imagine if we tried to find a way to heaven "by ourselves". We'd never make it!

So much Christians do not read the bible because according to them there are so much things that are more important than god . or it may be also due to ignorance , arrogance or even skepticism that such a book has touched millions of life around the globe . secondly , people ask questions answered millions of years ago due to the fact that they are not ready to believe that such an old book could provide such accurate details .

It's ok to help other Christians understand the bible, a spirit of complaining is not a way to share faith.
