why do some say you must chew your food20-40times?does chewing your food have to do with weight gain or loss??

    The signal that goes from your stomach to your brain to tell you that you are full takes a while. Perhaps you had the experience of eating something very fast and then suddenly feeling too full -- the signal was slower than your eating. So if you chew each bite for a longer time, it takes longer to eat your food, which gives your body more of a chance to send the "full" signal to your brain before you've eaten too much.

    complex carbs are partially digested in the mouth but only if chewed properly. in fact chewing allows starches to get coated with saliva which has an enzyme called maltase and is responsible for starting breaking down complex sugars.

    If you chew your food you can start breaking it down before it makes it to the stomach which makes the rest of the digestion easier.

    Chewing makes it easier for your saliva to digest starch. Buy chewing 20-40 times, you increase the surface contact of the food to the saliva thus making it easier for the saliva to digest it.

    loss because you give your stomach more time to signal that it is full. And if you chew each bite enough times you are exhausted of it before you've got very far.

    It's not 20-40 times it's 200-400 times and it's so your body can digest it faster and your body can isimulate it easier

    no. nothing to do with it. NOTHING. not one thing you will not gain weight if you chew your food 33 times, or if you chew your food 4 times.. you will not lose weight if you chew your food 28 times instead if 24 times. thats just retarded

    It takes up less space in your stomach and prevents you from appearring fatter than you actually are after you eat.
