How do people that was born on 29 February celebrate their birthday on a leap year?

I'v wondered that myself. I would think it should be March 1, because that is the next day. If they go on the 28th, that would be 1 day too soon, wouldn't it? But then that gets you into a whole other month. So then they would have to have 2 birthstones. It's not fair. I don't know why we really have to do that every 4 years. I'v heard that it is really important to have the extra day. So, I don't know.

They pick a day.......usually the 28th of Feb or 1st of March.
Some pick totally different days.
My uncle was born on 29 Feb, he died of old age at 19 -- 76.
(That was old back in his day)

That is my Mom's birthday. She usually celebrates for two days the 28th and 1st. She is lucky!
