how do you get rid of the dropdown menu from a search bar like the yahoo search bar?

i don't know what it is called, but its annoying and i just want it to go away, anyone know how?

Update:

further clarification: i am not talking about on the toolbar of the web browser, i am talking about inside of the actual web page, when typing in search, a dropdown menu comes down with recent searches already performed, that is what i want to go away

    right click on the tool bar and un check the bars you don't want to use

    Take your mous a put it all the way down to the screen > rigth click > toolbar > unselect yahoo.
