    Catholic Belief

To gain the happiness of heaven we must know, love, and serve God in this world. Man must know, love and serve God in a supernatural manner in order to gain happiness of heaven. Man is raised to the supernatural order only by grace, a free gift of God.

We learn to know, love, and serve God from Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who teaches us through the Catholic Church.

In order to be saved, all persons who have attained the use of reason must believe explicitly that God exist and that he rewards the good and punishes the wicked; in practice they must also believe in the mysteries of the Blessed Trinity and the Incarnation.

By the Blessed Trinity we mean one and the same God in three divine persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

By the Incarnation is meant that the Son of God, retaining His divine nature, took to Himself a human nature, that is, a body and soul like ours.

The Church is the congregation of all baptized persons united in the same true faith, the same sacrifice, and the same sacraments, under the authority of the Sovereign Pontiff and the bishops in communion with him.

We find the chief truths taught by Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church in the Apostles' Creed.

    God Bless You

After being a Catholic for more than 45 yrs., I would suggest that you find another Church. You can join the Roman Church if. You want to have more than one leader! Light candles in front of statues of Mary and other saints. Not knowing what they really looked like.If you like confessing your personal and private sins to a man who is as much a sinner as any of us.

If you believe that a creature (the priest) by saying some words and waving his hand over a piece of unleavened bread. Create the Creator! If you believe that a child who knows neither their own name or that of their parents, and has no sin. Needs to be baptized.

If you believe that the Vatican, the seat of power for that Church. Is the major share holder of Perelli tire company, and TWA. Holds shares on the stock market. Teaches against birth control, yet owns a company that makes birth control pills?

Owns all the banks and loan companies in Rome. Owns all the utility companies in Rome. All the steel and concrete companies in Rome. Be my guest.

Yes a Christian can backslid. The only way to be saved is to believe that Jesus is God's Son, confess His name before men, and repent of your sins. Be baptized by immerson, be faithful until death. Then you will be saved

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen

Catholics believe what other Christians believe in. Jesus is the son of God born of Mary the Virgin. That is why we respect Mary because she gave birth to our savior. He died for our sins but resurrected the third day and went to heaven. Going to mass on Sundays is mandatory as well as going to mass on Christmas. Sacraments are important: baptism, communion, confession, confirmation, wedding, and annoiting. It helps us to be holier and get closer to God. All protestant denominations came from the Catholic Church and many still practice some Catholic traditions.

Well faith is something you have to work on. Its not easy to attain it however. Common sense tells us that we shouldn't believe in certain things that aren't probable. God being something that isn't probable. He's this Omnipotent being. Never dies, nor can be killed. He is all powerful, yet merciful. He is only one person(or 3 persons in one), but still is able to be at all places at all time. Everything in our minds tells us that no one should be able to do anything like this, but He can. Most people don't believe because they say there is no proof that he exists, but people like you, people who wonder about him everyday are the proof. If God is made up then why do most people turn to him sooner or later in life? I've always have been told that the best way to believe is to detach yourself from everything you've learned about reason and reteach yourself how to believe.

    Catholic Profession of Faith:

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things seen and unseen.

    We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son, God from God, Light from Light, True God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father by whom all things were made;

For us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and by the power Holy Spirit was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man,

He was crucified under Pontius Pilate.

He suffered, died and was buried,

on the third day he rose again in fulfilment of the Scriptures,

He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father.

He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

With the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, and has spoken through prophets.

We believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. And look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

    Mystery of Faith:

Christ has died, Chirsit has risen, Christ will come again

    Vows Pledged at Baptism:

    Renounce Satan

    Renounce all of Satans works

    and all of satans pomps

Believe that there is only one God, the Creator, Preserver and Ruler of all things and the Father of all men

Believe that this our God and Father is a just judge, Who rewards the good and punishes the wicked

Believe that in one God there are three Divine Persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost

Believe that the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, Jesus Christ, was made man, was conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried, descended into hell, and on the third day rose aain from the dead, ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, and from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead

Believe that the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, enables us to live and accomplish what is right and just, and that without His grace no one can be saved

Believe in and openly profess the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting

firmly resolve to live in accordance with the holy doctrine of Christ, ever to remain faithful to His Church, to avoid sin, to love God with your whole heart, and your neighbor as yourself,

declare this your will, and promise in the presence of the All-seeing God, before your parents, teachers, and the whole congregration.

These are the expressed beliefs there is alot of dogma and practices and traditions that come out of these beliefs, but this is the basic understanding of the Catholic belief.

Catholicism applies the typical standard Christian beliefs except they tend to use more ritual than your newer more contemporary denominations.
