who is the author of genesis?

    Moses wrote the Pentatuch,: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.

    Moses actually put pen to paper, but God was the author. After all, 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that all scritpure came from God.

    Moses is credited with writing the Pentatuch, the first 5 books of the Bible.

    Its credited to Moses with some editing by another figure, such as Joshua. Afterall, the end of Deuteronomy details the death of Moses and shortly after - something he naturally cannot write by himself. It is believed that the end of Deuteronomy was originally part of the book of Joshua.

    Well that destroys the credibility of those books then. We know Moses was a bit liberal with the truth when he said god wrote the commandments. We know he did that.
