Isn't it sad that the Yankees have the highest payroll and still havent won a World Series since 2000?

I though larger payroll=Good players=World Series? Are the Yankees that pathetic?

Update:

The Cardinals have been one of the best teams in the majors since 2000. Before this paste year, we had the best record in the majors. Im not taking anything away from the Yankees, but if you have a 200 million dollar payroll and dont win the big one, its sad.

No it's not sad. But what is sad is the amount of money that they over players and taking on big contracts in trades.

    Kyle Farnsworth - $5,416,667 what?

    Carl Pavano - $8,000,000 what?

Randy Johnson - $15,661,427 what? Is about to be traded

Kevin Brown was a complete wast of money.

Add this in with Jeter, Arod, and Giambi being in the fat years of their contracts and it looks a lot worse than it really is.

Here are the top 5 payrolls from last year. This years will look a lot different.

    1. NY Yankees 198,662,180

    2. Boston 120,100,524

    3. LA Angels 103,625,333

    4. Chicago Sox 102,875,667

    5. NY Mets 100,901,085

The Yankees could spend a billion dollar on players it doesn't matter. "Teams and players winning in the post season does".

nope. so what if we haven't won a world series? look at how much excitement and fun the yanks bring throughout the whole season. last year, we were the best team in the majors, apart from the playoffs. yea yea we have a 200 million dollar payroll. But, money cannot buy championships just look at the damn knicks. We, as faithful yanks fan, need to stop expecting so much out of this team and maybe if we don't put so much pressure on them ever year, the yanks might actually win a world series or two. its not a life or death situation, ppl. its just a sport. besides no matter what, we always get the next season and we get to sign the best free agants. so stop worrying and just enjoy baseball as an entertainment sport. last i checked thats what sports are for us fans: a chance to provide us escape with everyday troubles and stress of life. lets leave stress out of this one, shallc we?

I blame A-Rod. he isn't any doubt between the perfect hitters on the Yankees, yet can on no account get those "grab" hits,in case you comprehend what I propose.Like final 365 days interior the playoffs whilst he had that hitless streak, going 0-sixteen,besides the undeniable fact that he did get like a million hit.I propose he and no person else might desire to ever come with the aid of.Plus they are making terrible strikes.i do no longer think of there is any doubt that making Chamberlain a starter suitable now's a circulate that asserts this company is thinking 2009 and not this season.i think of Cashman has been prepared all alongside to forfeit this season if this ability that they might desire to construct some championship around the extra youthful adult adult males.

Its not really that sad at all. We have won the AL East pennant 9 years in a row and are the hands down favorite to make it ten. Not every great team wins all of the time and that speaks to the diversity of the league. The Cardinals won it all last year but the really weren't the best team in baseball, They just got hot at the right moment. We still have to play the games but I like our chances.

yes... the are that pathetic... but the real formula, or at least the way I see it is, large payroll=good players=competition between them=no team... the yankees think that because they have the best players of each position they are going to win... but they don't have a team, just a bunch of stars trying to shine more than the rest of the team...

SO...... Mikes AWESHOLE let me answer this question for the FIFTEENTH TIME, yes the YANKEES spend BIG but on top of that huge payroll they also payed out 78 >> MILLION<< in revenue sharing so your wanna be major leauge ball club should probably thank the YANKEES they hate so much for buying their new cups, not that they have anything to fill them with.......and yes it is sad....

Bla,Bla,Bla.........You're only the 34,987,568 person to come up with the original statement. Envy is the name of the game. Everyone hates the Yankees but everyone wants their team to have the success the Yankees have. So what that they haven't won in 6 years. Take a long around you bozo, most teams in the majors haven't won in decades. So what's you point? You don't have a point!! You just babble like a 2 year old. Which reminds me, isn't it past your bed time little boy!!!

Ya. A team with atleast twice the payroll of most other teams should make it past the first round of the postseason.

I think what is more sad is that they have not realized that their system of doing things is flawed. Not that I care as a Sox fan, I hope they continue to favor high payroll over team chemistry.
