Can an heir collect homestead land from 1939?
If there is no record of a sale, would the heirs be able to claim land from 1939? My grandfather died without a will and he owned 800 acres of beachfront property on the Oregon Coast.

If he died intestate, the estate would have been divided according to the laws at the time.
Your first step would be to see who the owner of the land is now.

The taxes owed must be a fortune. See a lawyer. I can't believe that no one owns it.Source(s): An Agent
