How to understand girls?Give me a clue on this scenario?

Hi, guess this is a universal question w/o a universal guidance for it :(

Now there's a girl (quite attractive in every sense). I approached her and introduced myself and it was quite a brief meeting but a fruitful one, nevertheless. Thing is, i never approached her again for past 3-4 months or so. During past months, i use to return smile and limited my conversation to hi and hello (i don't know y i didn't extended the conversation when i would have liked that so much).

Anyways, recently i decided to ask her out to which she agreed.

I wanted to take her out to some place fairly romantic (guess girls like beautiful surroundings) and told her about it. Instead, she wants to go to some shopping mall or a burger corner and refused for those romantic places citing the fact that she needs time to know me.

Guys, my question is, what do u understand from the above scenario. What should be my next step and where am i going with this girl.

Update:

It's not that i am not trying to chose the best answer. Problem is, all you guys have given terrific answers :) and helped me out. It's like all of you gave the best answers. :)) Thanks guys

I was just wondering how to understand men!! ha ha Well I would think from her response that a big romantic evening is too much pressure for her right now. The good news is that she still said yes and was also honest with you. That's a great start so go with it and see what happens once you get to know her more. Besides, you may end up being glad you didn't blow a ton of money at a more expensive joint! :)

    Hi, I'm a girl. Lol.

From a woman's point of view, she's very smart for choosing to go somewhere casual first. She probably wants to be sure about what she's getting into, relationship-wise.

You should do as she pleases, but don't let her own you.

    I suggest...

First date: Casual; Break the ice with her; Let her feel comfortable with you.

Second date: More romantic and intimate.

After the first date, and she accepts a second date, then you've caught her. She likes you. I hope everything works our with her!

Romantic restaurants are NOT good for 1st dates. They are intimidating and send the wrong message. She has every reason to want to go somewhere more casual. She probably thinks that you believe that she will put out because you spend alot at a fancy restaurant.

Well she obviously wants to get to know you or she would have said no. You always follow directions. If she says stand on your head, do it. No I am just kidding. She has every right to suggest another place that she may be more comfortable. Follow it.

Sounds to me like she may want to be a friend only . I mean women are all different, but if I got that response, I would think she wasn't really interested in more than friends.

If you really want to be with her do what she wants. If she wants to go the mall then do it and after that hopefully things will work it self out. You go the hard part over with man.

For the next date, don't go out to eat. Go to the zoo or a walk through the park. There should be plenty of time for her to get to know you.

i'm a girl. it sounds like she takes that pretty serious and, being "attractive" probably has guys pawing at her all the time. just do what she wants and feels comfortable with and if she likes you (and you still like her) you can upgrade your dating situation. i personally don't like going to those places either. they feel fake and cheesy. it can make you uncomfortable. good luck

she perhaps sounds like a very casual girl.

it sounds like she might be more comfortable spending time with you and getting to know you in something more laid back than a fancy dinner. i prefer to spend time with my man eating a burger than having to worry about a fancy dinner metting..it's just more comfortable and natural imho.

These days girls are more cautious. My guess is she really wants to make something of this relationship. She doesn't want it to be about sex. It's more important to her to get to know you. She wants you to make a lasting friendship that can evolve into something more(casual/friendship/romance/comitment/sex).
